The new Facebook homepage has been out for a few days. Despite a notification appearing at the top of every person's homepage since 3 weeks ago, people are just now realizing changes have been made.
Facebook changed the news feed to be sortable and dynamic. In addition, the links were moved around a bit.
There is now a list of your friend lists on the left side of Facebook. You can click each friend list to see information only from friends that are on that list.
The news feed hasn't changed except cosmetically, the same information is there. A few events, such as when you write on another person's wall, appear as a directional arrow to indicate who the message went to.
There's also a new X button that appears on the right side of every news post. This allows you to hide all friend updates from that person.
Although Facebook has made some update mistakes in the past, I feel all the updates that were made here were legit and completely in the interest of an upgrade. I feel anyone still complaining about the new Facebook might just be a chronic complainer of when things change.
I was reading the posts on one of the groups against the change, and one guy referred the change to making the facebook users "brainwashed zombies with all of the arrows pointing to people." We really need to have better criticism than that. If you like the new Facebook front page like me, that's great. We'll have fun using it! But if you are one of the people who, for whatever reason, "hates" it, please, give it a try to its full potential, find the things you don't like about it specifically, then create a group listing those things. How can you hate something if you can't justify why you hate it?
Does Facebook really hate the new update, or does Facebook just hate change?
Go ahead, sort your friends into Friend Lists and take advantage of the full features of the new front page!
