New Internet Phenomenon -- New Advertising Schemes?

One of the surprising things about the internet is the shared creativity people can have over collaborative works. One such work happens when a talented video editor edits an infomercial of some kind into a rap song.

This has happened a few times in Youtube and internet history. One of the first ones involved a cleaning product Cillit Bang.

The video's creator, JAKAZiD, gained internet popularity and fame for the remix. It was rumored that the company that makes Cillit Bang offered JAKAZiD to create advertisements for them due to the success of that video.

Not long ago, a new remix by DJ Steve Porter has approached showcasing Vince with his Slap-Chop cooking appliance.

The question arises whether these videos impact the advertising market in a new way. Some evidence suggests that using catchy music video type of productions might actually catch the viewer's attention more than a simple advertisement or infomercial.

Can we expect to see this marketing scheme hit mainstream television anytime soon? I believe we've already seen the start of some of this, specifically from Geico's new commercial line involving a stack of money.

I believe the new upcoming trend for advertisements is in the line of hip-hop integration and more clever concepts. Honestly, I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner than now.
